On October 18th, the 15th Simultaneous Beach Cleanup, coordinated by ADEGA, took place with the collaboration of many municipalities, including Muros.
Our Mar de Muros Cultural Association organized the cleanup of Ventín beach, in A Abelleira, where some of our members and a few guests gathered at 11am.
Although the beach wasn’t very dirty, we collected almost 30 kg of litter, mainly plastics: bottles, fishing traps, ropes, and above all, microplastics tangled up in the seaweed and dune vegetation.
After finishing the work, we took the chance to enjoy some food and drinks, chat, and talk about the association’s upcoming activities.
It was a beautiful morning, sunny and very pleasant, made special by coming together to do something truly important and necessary: helping care for the environment and the sea, the main purpose and driving force behind our association.
