Two years ago, at the previous edition of the Pasaia Maritime Festival, the restoration of the Maniños boat “Raqueiro” was just beginning. At that time, it seemed like a great idea to take a trip to Donosti for this gathering of so many seafaring cultures, and so it was… four days of enjoyment and admiration for traditional boats that recalled how our not-so-distant ancestors lived, sharing knowledge passed down over centuries by people with a special sensitivity for valuing this tangible and intangible heritage. Two years later, I return with the boat restored… a dream come true! With the Galician flag at the tip of the sail’s yard… four days of meeting and sailing with people who share something very beautiful… a passion… a space that makes us feel free.
