Yes, different because the sea and the river combine…
The departure was from Freixo, where the A.C. Terra de Outes, the organizer, has its mooring. We go up the estuary, being careful not to run aground on the Misela; we pass by Broña beach, then take the Tambre channel, passing by Barquiña and leaving the entrance to Noia to starboard. From here it is important to get close to the port side land, to avoid passing over the rocks of Punta Peón.
Arriving at Ponte Nafonso, you have to lower the mast to be able to pass under the bridge… Once past this, it is time to start rowing (always helped by the flood current), as the sail here does not always help…
A mandatory stop at the Pazo do Tambre (to regain strength)… There is little left to our destination: the hydroelectric power plant, the limit of our navigation.
When the tide turns, it is time to start the descent, now helped not only by the tide but also by the river current.
Beautiful day of fellowship…
